Podiatry services focus on foot injuries, high arched or flat feet, ingrown toenails, blisters, corns, calluses, fungal problems, children’s foot issues.

Why might I see a podiatrist?

  • Diabetes and other chronic illnesses
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Ingrown toenails and other nail conditions
  • Corns and callouses
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Morton’s Neuroma and other foot pathologies
  • Correction of function through functional orthoses (custom made, correctable arch supports)
  • Referral for foot surgery
  • Developmental concerns with feet and gait in children

How can the podiatrist help you?

  • Assess your level of risk of developing foot complications and help you understand how to prevent them
  • Define your assessment period in 3, 6 or 12 months based on level of risk
  • Assess and treat and pathology (disease, disorder, pain or discomfort) affecting your foot or lower limb

What is the cost of this service?

Ask your GP if you are eligible for a Care Plan and/or referral to the ICDC program. If so then 100% funded by WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA)*. On a GPMP/EPC referral there will be no gap payment after the Medicare Rebate. Access the service as a private patient with a private fee. These services may be covered by private health insurance.

After hours medical assistance: In an emergency call 000 or present to your nearest Regional Hospital emergency department. If you have a non- emergency and would like to consult with a GP then call Telstra Health on 1800 225 523. The service is free to access for Australian residents who reside in the wheatbelt or who are temporarily residing in the Wheatbelt. This service can be accessed before 8am and after 6pm Monday-Friday, before 8am and after 12pm Saturday and all day Sunday and any Public Holidays.
