Welcome Londa!

The Deco Arts team has a new project manager! Londa started at the end of October as project assistant, and quickly moved up to project manager as I (Maren) will be leaving the team at the beginning of December to visit family. I’ve had such an amazing time meeting new people and visiting new places, but COVID has really made the distance feel a lot further. So with that I bid farewell, and introduce to you the very organised and fabulous Londa! I’ve asked her some quickfire questions about herself, so here we go:

DA: What got you into the Deco Arts project?

I saw the opportunity to work, connect & travel in rural communities as such an exciting pathway, it was something that I love to do, I love connecting with people, creating happy spaces and hearing peoples stories. The bonus with this role is it is working with all kinds of amazing people in a creative way!
So I applied for the position back in February and was unsuccessful the first time, but was offered a part time position in September as the Project had grown. I have now been lucky enough to step up as the Project Manager, which has given me so much more opportunity, flexibility and time to really appreciate and grow the project.

DA: What’s the biggest change you see in yourself from 3 years ago to today?

I am more ME than I have ever been, I have so much comfort in my own journey and path. I love that I am unique, that I challenge myself and that I am open to all opportunities that come my way.

DA: What do you hope to achieve in the workshop?

I hope to make a difference in peoples lives as well as get new perspectives, new language, new connections and a new understanding of what challenges people face in our rural communities.

DA: When you’re feeling discouraged, what gets you back on track?

I love to listen to inspirational youtube clips, take time out with my husband and boys. I also take timeout for myself, just to reset my mindset and offload that unnecessary baggage that we tend to hold onto.

DA: What is your most listened to song right now?

“Kokomo – By the Beach Boys”

We understand you
