Meet Paul

Meet Paul! Tomorrow is the big Art & Design workshop, and I am so pleased to introduce you to the very talented and well-humored Paul Morgan.

I met Paul through the Book Shop after he and his wife Kaz purchased the Book Shed in Northam. Paul’s background is in exhibition design, graphic design, and overall Aesthetic. If you’ve ever stepped foot in one of his enterprises, you’ll immediately understand what I mean. He has an uncanny ability to create a sense of mystique, nostalgia, and comfort, all at once. On top of that, Paul and Kaz are passionate about the Wheatbelt community and creating employment opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Since living in Northam, Paul has partnered with the Wheatbelt Health Network in much (if not all) of our design needs, so when it came time to run an inclusive design workshop in Dowerin, it was obvious who to ask first.

Here’s what Paul had to say when asked our artist Quickfire Questions:

DA: What got you into design?

I was lucky to scrape into the School of Design at Curtin University

DA: What’s the biggest change you see in yourself from 3 years ago to today?

I drive a truck now

DA: What do you hope to achieve in the workshop?

Enable creativity

DA: When you’re feeling discouraged, what gets you back on track?

Chocolate ice-cream

DA: What is your most listened to song right now?

Fine Artiste Blues by R.Crumb & his Cheap Suit Serenaders, from the album Chasin’ Rainbows – really enjoying jug band music, and old music from the 1920-30’s

We understand you
