Site Visit – Gingin

I headed out to Gingin today, caught up with some locals who are helping me put this workshop together!

I checked out some venues, and we’re settling on the Gingin CRC for the 22nd and 23rd of September. The workshop is going to be led by a local Wheatbelt Photographer. It’s got this beautiful back patio area full of flowers, which doubles as both a beautiful location for photographing and extra spacious for those who are uncomfortable with small spaces. Most importantly, it’s accessible for wheelchairs and prams. Part of this project will be creating an accessibility checklist for planning events, I’ll be putting this together with the help of my amazing Co-Design Committee.

I also checked out the Gingin Railway Markets – they are newly open for lunch and I chatted with a lovely couple who were on their way North from Perth. They go on these big cycling adventures and are planning a trip all on their bikes to see the silos. I walked through the park just in time to see a poor girl slip in the excessive amounts of mud puddles, it was so soggy! The river was raging with all the rain we’ve had this winter, what a sight.

The waitlist is now open, and seats are limited, so if you’re interested in the workshop send an email to [email protected]!
