Immunisation

The Wheatbelt GP Network aims to improve the immunisation coverage rate to above 90% in children fully immunised under the age of 7 years across the Wheatbelt.

To achieve this, the Network:

  • Raises community awareness of the importance of childhood immunisation by sending out Four Year Old Birthday Cards to all children turning 4
  • Provides assistance to practices with data cleansing
  • Provides education in relation to the secure transfer of immunisation encounters to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR)
  • Provides assistance to Practice Nurses to access the Immunisation Certification Course
  • Disseminates up to date information to practices in regard to changes to the Immunisation Schedule
  • Assists practices by providing information and assistance with maintaining Cold Chain Management of vaccines and Vaccine Refrigerators
  • Assists practices to audit their Vaccine Fridges by data logging on a rotational system.
  • Is available to visit practices to provide hands on education and assistance, such as in relation to the General Practice Immunisation Incentive Scheme (GPII) and the ACIR website

Immunisation Calculator

The Immunisation Calculator was developed by the South Australian Department of Health and has been modified to be a resource tool for all Australian states.

This calculator is for Australian children up to their 7th birthday on the National Immunisation Schedule.  It will help to determine what vaccinations are due.  You will need the child's immunisation records ready to enter the dates that doses of vaccine were given.
