Dietitics


Dietitians provide practical nutrition/dietary advice to their patients specific to their lifestyle.  Dietitians can provide dietary advice for a range of conditions including;
• Diabetes (type 2, type 1 and gestational)
• Cardiovascular disease
• Obesity
• Underweight/malnutrition/ excess weight loss/poor appetite
• Cancer
• Chronic Kidney Disease
• Impaired glucose tolerance/Impaired fasting glucose
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
• Gastrointestinal disorders e.g. IBS, Coeliacs disease
• Gastroesophageal reflux
• Following Bariatric Surgery
• Healthy eating advice

A Dietitian is available through the Wheatbelt GP Network to provide individual and group consultations.  Regional Primary Health Services funding has been secured and is used to provide this service.

The Dietitan currently visits Goomalling, York (Diabetic patients), Beverley, Narembeen and Quairading. 

The Network aims to fill gaps in services offered throughout the region and has worked with WA Country Health Service - Wheatbelt to identify the best method of delivery services.
